Can confirm, if you're looking to do a world in  which there aren't  any adults, Gone  is definitely worth reading for inspiration!  I haven't personally  read the last book yet but damn am  I looking  forward to buying it!

The kids got really cruel like  you  said but  I love that, in a  weird way,  what they did  made sense. I  started reading as a 15 year old  and  those books  really  got me thinking.
