If your teacher/lecturer/whatever was happy with it, then that's
fine. Sounds like the assignment was being marked on the end results,
rather than the actual code.

Careful, though -- if the other students find out you're using Pyrex,
they might lobby to get it banned for the next assignment on the
grounds that it gives an unfair advantage. :-)

I think that would depend on the reasons for C being mandated. If it's
so that other C programmers can maintain the code, it wouldn't be
acceptable. The only real solution in such cases is to somehow
enlighten those responsible for the project rules enough to get them
to allow a higher-level language...
