Didn't test it, but according to the changelog, I would assume that the bug
is not fixed.

Yes, unless Greg is going to implement the changes by himself. Note that I
do not expect this to be exactly trivial. It took me a while to get my head
around all that stuff.

Any reason you can't just use Cython in the meantime?
