[Pyrex] Question about +=, -=, *=, etc.

There's no timeframe for anything in Pyrex, since it depends entirely
on amount of spare time available, which is an unknowable
quantity. However, a couple of people have expressed interest in this
now, which may result in raising it up the priority list a little
(some other things are still more urgent, though).

In the meantime, the workaround that Phillip J. Eby suggested
should be just as efficient.
