You can change it if you like, but be aware that
I haven't worked out all the details of how it
should work myself yet, so I can't promise that
a direct merge will be possible.

But if you're interested in doing further work
on this, I'd be happy to discuss the ideas I have
in more detail (there's quite a lot more to it
than I've indicated here).
